Rave or Save: Jeffree Star x MannyMUA Eclipse Skin Frost

Hey friends! 👋🏻 today’s Rave or Save product is the Eclipse highlighter/skin frost from the Jeffree Star Cosmetics and MannyMUA collaboration! Needless to say, I was pretty excited for this collection because it propelled me to actually buy a highlighter from Jeffree Star. Considering I’ve been eyeing Jeffree’s highlighters for a while, I had high expectations from the person whose highlight is always blinding. I already own three of his liquid lipsticks and they are amazing so I expected the same for the rest of his products. As always, pictures and swatches will be at the end of the review! 💕

Initially, when I first swiped my ring finger to swatch the highlight on my arm, almost no product came off. The product itself feels a little gritty which also shocked me because Manny claimed it was creamy. When I think of a creamy powder, I instantly think of Lorac or Anastasia eyeshadows. I felt like it didn’t feel that way. Then, I go in with a second finger swatch and it picked up more product and glitter but I was still unhappy with the pigmentation because it was CHUNKY. Then, I swatched it again and on the third layer of swatching on my finger, I noticed that it became chunkier and it balled up. My last resort was to apply it with a brush onto my face because I had to make sure it worked. I used a Luxie Tapered Highlighting Brush to apply it on the high points of my cheeks and it FINALLY worked. I did notice that it had tiny glitter particles which I wasn’t a fan of but I brushed the glitter off with a clean brush and so it didn’t bother me afterwards but when I looked closely at my face it still had glitter! The highlight was pretty blinding and by applying it on my face, it made up for the lack of product with the finger swatch. I asked two of my friends who own the highlighter as well and they experienced the same thing I did and we all agreed that the highlighter has to be applied with a highlighting brush—extremely important not just any brush—onto the face. The color itself is pretty as well. It’s a cool toned champagne with a hint of pink. Now, because of the color it’s not my favorite highlight because I feel like it doesn’t mesh well with my bronzer because it’s warm toned, but I still wear it every other day and I think it’s beautiful under the arch of the brow. I have also seen in reviews that people prefer Jeffree’s regular highlighters so I’ll definitely have to purchase some to form an opinion of my own. But, just by trying this specific shade I think his formula could be better. I feel like I’m being really hard on this product because I was shocked by the finger swatches. This product is a save for me because it’s not my ride or die highlighter. Do I think it’s a good highlight? Yes, when using a highlighting brush of course and removing the glitter!  But it’s not a highlighter I would recommend to someone who’s buying their first highlight!

Rave or Save: ABH Modern Renaissance Palette Review

Hey friends! 👋🏻

This semester has kicked my butt and it hasn’t ended yet. As I’m writing this, the need to study grows stronger but I decided I needed a break and I wanted to get back to my hobby. So here I am blogging and playing 13 Reasons Why in the background! As always, swatches and links to purchase will be at the end of the review! ❤️

I’ve been meaning to review this product for months now but better late than never, AM I RIGHT? Anyways, I have never tried Anastasia Beverly Hills because the single shadows can add up quickly to this college girl’s negative bank account. Therefore, I was pretty excited to check this out!

I was so impressed with the formulation and pigmentation of the eye shadows!! When I dipped my fingers for the first time to swatch them all on my arm it felt like butter! The eye shadows blend so easily on the eyes when applied with a brush as well and neither of the eye shadows were patchy. I did notice that there was a bit of kickback when I dipped my brush into certain eye shadows. That’s not a con for me because you can always just tap off the excess and blow it off the palette! It’s eye shadow, I expect that! I think the shades are so perfect because you have your warm tones and cool tones and dark enough shadows to do a smokey eye and colorful enough to make a a wearable colorful look! All-in-all, it’s a great Palette. I know a lot of people compare it to the Violet Voss Holy Grail Palette but in my opinion they’re both really good but the quality is so much better in the Anastasia palette! For me this palette is a rave! My favorite shades are realgar, burnt orange, red ochre, warm taupe, and antique bronze! I, also, filmed a look with this palette on my YouTube channel: Everyday Glam ! Let me know if you checked my video out! Thanks for reading!

Rave or Save: Too Faced Sweet Peach Creamy Peach Oil Lip Gloss

Helloooo my lovelies! It has been a hot minute since I last wrote a blog post. But here I am. For those of you who do not know me, I am Marie Ann! Nice to meet your lovely self! Today’s Rave or Save is on the Too Faced Sweet Peach Creamy Peach Oil Lip Gloss! As always, swatches and links to purchase will be all the way at the end of this post! ♥️

If you’re looking for a wet, glossy, and opaque lip gloss. This is not the way to go. Better off saving your money! I would highly recommend the Marc Jacobs lip glosses if that’s what you want plus they’re long lasting too! But enough of Marc Jacobs. I was fortunate enough to try a sample size as a VIB of Pure Peach. I had no expectations or any notions about the gloss in order to not be biased. I think this gloss is perfect for an everyday going about your day or going to university sheer gloss. I wore this to the beach because it’s so natural looking. I love how it adds a hint of color to your lips. But what I love most is how moisturizing it feels on the lips! I do drink a lot of water and exfoliate my lips every day so therefore I don’t have crusty lips (that sounds terrible lol) and I found the gloss to glide on smoothly and sit well on the lips. You’re going to have to reapply throughout the day. But you still do that anyways with other glosses. So this gloss isn’t any different. I personally like the smell but my boyfriend says it smells like medicine. All-in-all, I love it and I ended up buying a full size in the shade Papa Don’t Peach and it’s safe to say that I wear this lip gloss every day ever since I bought it. It’s all based on preference. This is a sheer gloss so keep in mind that it’s just going to leave a small sheen on your lips with a hint of color! One of my favorite glosses hands down! Along with the Marc Jacobs glosses! In my opinion, this product is a rave!

Rave or Save: Colourpop Haul Swatches & Review

RaHello lovelies! I’m sorry I haven’t posted in a hot minute! But I was just gathering all the makeup I wanted to review and show you all and I’m glad to be writing a post! I’ll be reviewing Colourpops’s Super Shock Shadows, Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick, and one of their Créme Gel Liners! Pictures and swatches will follow  the review!

Super Shock Shadow:

I bought 11 shades from their Super Shock Shadow collection. The texture of their eyeshadows are so different! It’s hard to explain but I’ll try to do my best. Have you ever cut bananas into thin slices to place over your pancakes? Have you ever touched the thin slice of banana? That’s exactly how the Colourpop Supershock Shadow feels like! 😸 It feels creamy and almost buttery when you swatch the eyeshadows! The eyeshadows are highly pigmented and have specks of glitter and are best applied with your finger rather than a brush. You can wear the eyeshadow alone and blend out the harsh lines with a blending brush and it’ll give you a smokey eye look on the outer edges. This technique helps when you’re in a rush because it seems like you did a complete makeup look! I instantly fell in love with the Supershock shadows!

Ultra Satin Lips:

The formula feels so creamy and a little mousse-y on the lips! They’re not completely matte therefore they don’t dry out your lips! These are also highly pigmented! I love the formula!

Créme Gel Liner:

I used the e.l.f. Angled Eyeliner Brush to do my winged liner and I was impressed with how creamy the gel liner was! It was easy to apply and it was highly pigmented as well!

All-in-all Colourpop made a good first impression on me and I love how inexpensive it is! I definitely would recommend it to anyone and everyone! Therefore, it’s a rave! I’ll link where to purchase everything at the end of this post! ❤️
